I just finished restoring this VMC-33D for a client. I never seen another one like it. It has the SS trim that is identical to the V44. Has anyone else ever seen this trim used on a 33 before?

No, I haven't seen that trim on a 33.
Don't the VMC 27's and 33's have two sets of louvres on the side also? It looks like the one you have pictured only has one on the side.

I have a 27 and it looks like the one Bubba posted.  The trim at the top actually covers a seam where the top section comes off.  I have been told that they were made that way so that the manufactuer could just emboss that small little top section and make the machines for whoever and/or switch the "brand" out a later time.

I have restored at least 30 27's and 33's, most of these had the trim like the one bubba posted a photo of. I have also done a few "one piece" front doors with no trim, but this is the first one I've seen with V44 trim.  '<img'>

Tom,
All the 27's and 33's I've seen only have one set on each side.

Terry,
This VMC 33 currently on eBay (and most likely will stay on eBay - $2,995.00 unrestored) does not have the chrome trim that the one you restored did, but it does have the same paint scheme with the larger white section. I wonder if this one had the 44 chrome trim at one time.

My mistake - I was thinking of the V56 RT. I looked at my 27A later and realized I was wrong.
