If my memory serves me, the orignal paint scheme was red w/ white top and then shortly after being introduced, the paint was changed to an "all white" front. The image diplayed for the CS-72 in the Soda Machines Section is from an original brochure. As for the hand w/ bottle decals, they where available for decorating machines in the 50's...

I believe Jim is correct. I also have an original two tone Cavalier 72 that came from Coca Cola Bottling of Los Angeles. It has the bottle decal on the side and has some other decals on the front that seem to be from the era of late 50s. Since the machine spent its life in a post office, it never needed a paint job. In fact, it's done well for the first 45+ years of its life.

I've owned maybe a half dozen C-72's, with both the large and small embossed logo. All have been originaly red and white front doors

Then, this comment that accompanies the reprint in the soda machine section, is NOT correct?
Comments: The Cavalier CS-72 is a slant shelf machine that didn't have a crank handle to vend the sodas. This machine automatically released one bottle for removal once change was deposited. These machines are commonly restored to resemble the Vendo 81 with a "white top"; however, the Cavalier CS-72 originally came with an all white front door and red cabinet with a "white top".

Kirk,
You are correct! I will clarify the paint scheme in the description to be more accurate. The text is a contradiction to the original brochure displayed...

Quote (Eric @ April 17 2006,4:32) | Yeah it's a 72... Bubba is this one next on your list?.... | It is a neat looking machine, but not just yet... I have no space, and I don't want to part with any of the toys I have right now. Maybe once I convince the boss lady to convert the garage into a game room, I may consider it.... '>

Don't know the price you found on this Bubba...........but you should seriously consider this Cavalier 72 an upgrade to the square corner machines you have now. Will cost you the same to restore a roundtop machine as a squaretop..........but roundtops sell for 5 to 10 times the price of squaretops

Agree...don't wait around on this one. It is also the more desireable large script model.

This one isn't for sale yet. Another site that I'm on not Soda related -- I posted a pic of my VMC, and friend posted a pic of this one. He said he was thinking about picking up an old fridge and using the guts to try to piece something together He is down in TN, so I can't really go down there and give him a whoopin' for thinking of doing something like that, but I made it very clear not to do it... His intention is to fix it up for grandkids..
