I'm looking for a cleaner that I can use on the painted body of my Coke machines. Looking for something effective, but paint-friendly. I think somebody once mentioned car wash in a bottle. I've looked at Auto Zone and there are several different brands of cleaner that say "Car Wash" on them. Is that the type of cleaner I should use? If so, should I use any particular brand? What kind of cloth should I use? What else do I need to know about cleaning a soda machine?

I have been using Simple green. I saw a post that said it was taking the paint off but I have never had that problem. I live by that stuff it is the best. If you dont have a power washer and you have access to a pickup you can take it to a car wash. Just stand it up when you get there and clean away. If it isn't too crowded I stay there and clean up the whole machine.

Simple Green- where should I look for it? Wal-Mart, Auto Zone, NAPA?
The car wash idea sounds cool, but I don't have a trustworthy pickup handy. I might be able to borrow a pressure washer. Think I'll start with the Simple Green though, see if it takes care of most of it.
Do I need to use any particular type of cloth?

I use simple green or Windex. These works good for me. Try using a soft terry cloth towel.

Spray Nine is also another good one. Its a good grease cutter and it didn't disturb my paint at all. I've been a fan of it for years. The biggest drawback is the smell.

Simple Green works well for me too - it is pretty easy on your hands and even works well on those dried moldy soda puddles sometimes found in the bottom of your machine...

Simple Green is awesome! If you do use it full strength, make sure you don't let it sit to long on any painted surface or it will tend to fade. I've used diluted mixtures, 1 to 1 or 1 to 2 mixtures with great success.

I buy the Simple Green Automotive degreaser and generally use it full stregth AFTER spraying down the surface with water. Scrub or wash and rinse right away. |
