Ive been thinking some things over. I visit www.oldgas.com daily and have been watching some of their trends. Some of their post blow up with dozens of posts with some of the features that the site uses. Im in no way trying to be disrespectful or slam this site so please dont take it that way. More along the lines of trying to help the site grow as I call this place my home and have met many people I call friends in person or through emails, transactions etc. Here are some suggestions. Usually once a week or sometimes monthly a new post is brought up by the person in charge of his or her category, something along the lines of this.

BOTW "Buys of the week" a post is opened every Sunday night showcasing everyones buys of the week, People who have something they want to share from a "press down handle" to a picnic cooler, a complete machine, junk machine etc. can post with a picture and a brief description of what they bought.

FATW "Found along the way" Is usually done monthly and people who post, show pictures of what they have found in their travels could be signs, machines, bottling plants, old trucks etc. Something that is cool and you think the community would enjoy seeing.

They also have other categorys like map of the month, company of the month etc.

Good ideas, bad ideas? suggestions?

I like the finds idea.
I also collect old vintage neckties ( A bug I caught while in college... All the Second Hand Stores
Knew me by name) and K.N.O.T. (Kollecting Nasty Old Ties) website
has a “Finds of the Month”.
It's amazing what is still out there and fun seeing the deals others come across.
Along with the Swap Meet Area and Auction how about a Machine Spotted/Alert
Maybe we don't need a area but something like that... Say someone is looking for a
Westinghouse Standard/Or Dole Dispenser... I spot one in a Antique Mall... I could Post
the number to the Mall or PM the one looking...
I know we have the machines wanted section... Guess Could just do that... But I forget about that area....
What do you guys/gals think?.....

I too collect old petroliana (gas station) stuff. I never heard of the site www.oldgas.com prior to your post and decided to take a look. Looks very interesting. Thanks for the tip. I currently have about 5 pumps, a islander air/water meter and a Bear tire balancer machine of early vintage, Etc. I am planning on building a "vintage gas station" on the end of my restoration shop eventually. '<img'>

I'll have to get the size for you. I plan on attaching mine to the end of my shop.
