Great web-site. First time posting and in need of help. Restoring cavalier 72 (1950's model/round top). I bought this machine in DEC, nice shape but missing a few minor parts. The bottle door is missing all inner components. I was told that it requiers 4 brackets (metal) to hold the glass and seals together. Funtronics sell the top and bottom brackets but not the side ones. Can anyone tell me how many brackets it needs? Will the top and bottom brackets of a cavalier 96 square top work (since there is a door for sale on ebay??) Does anyone have pictures of these components so that I can get a better idea of what they look like. I know a metal shop that can make them but I need to know what they look like.

Just have your sheet metal shop bend some channel for you, 3/4" wide and 1/2" high. 3 pieces of glass along with sponge padding will be 3/4" thick. Cut the channel lengths to fit and use them hold the glass together.
Since screws must go through the door to hold the channel in place, is is advisable to make the center glass smaller or a screw will break it.

Not yet but I have all the info that I needed to now finish the door.

I may wait a few more weeks since I found a cavalier 72 along w/another 63 that I may try and pickup this weekend.

Thanks for the help.
