Slug rejector

I have the standard coinco installed in my Choice Vend. It seems that the slug rejector works to well. It rejects almost all the new style quarters.

Is there anyway to disable this part of the rejector so all quarters work?

Just for clarification; you can divide the quaters into two groups, older quarters and the new commerative quarters and when you deposit the new coins they are returned whereas the older coins are accepted for vending...?

After more checking it rejects 50-60 percent of all quarters. Old or New.

I would like it to just accept all quarters. I dont get many slugs here at the office.

Kevin, take out the slug rejector, & look on the back for a model no. (such a 790-7, for example) , there some info on the slug rejectors theory of operation at Coinco's site,

Can you just disconnect the quarter sensor?

This is the rebuilt coinco mechanism that I sent to you.

I may be in need of your services for the rejector on my Lance Candy machine. I was cleaning it & of course it fell apart.  Do you have a 1979 national rejectors?  Quarters only? Can I buy/use a new one?

(I'm going to go through th e quarter pathe for the benifit of others who have run into simular troubles on the coinco 790 series slug-rejector) If it's the all-plastic one (the slug rejector) it's probably a "790" unit, if you pop off its "gate" (the part that can swing out) & look at the end of the sweeper arm (that "sweeps the coin path when you push down on the coin return lever) you will see a small 1/2" plastic cover, under which is a small plastic counter-weight with a plastic "pin" pointing up into the coin path, this should have a small metal "whisker" attached to what looks like a tiny metal spring that hold the "whisker" to the plastic "pin" on  the counter weight, what this does, is as a quarter comes rolling off of the back-rail of the coin-path, the "whisker-wire" catches the serations on the edge of the coin & de-accelerates it, & drops it into the quarter-switches slot for counting, if it's missing or the "whisker" is broken off, usually it will "reject" old quarters that have worn serations, they aren't de-accelerated & hit the back wall of the coin-path & are "bounced" into the "reject" path of the mech. & are passed into the coin-return cup.

Now, with this in mind, if your is rejecting NEW quarters, it probably isn't the "whisker", but more likely the coin-path magnets ( which also deflect lighter coins, like Candian-quarters in the slug rejector model). if you slide the magnet more forward in it's slot you should be able to compensate for the newer quarters "lighter" metal-alloy content, you may have to play with it a bit to get it "just-right" for new & old quarters, you can opt to remove the magnets allong the quarter path too, then the slug rejector will also accept Canadian coinage ( this applies only to the 790 model only).

I'm afraid I don't have any mechanical single price mechs in my stock at the moment, is it the mechanical rejector portion only that is "smurfed-up" ? or is it an electronic mech?
