I should have been more clear. My favorite is the early CS-64's. They were produced between 1959-1962. In my opinion the Cavaliers are built better than the vendo's. In all of the machines I have worked on I just think the Cavalier machines are better put together. More sturdy.

As my avatar suggests, my all time favorite is the Westinghouse Multi-Drink.  Either the WC60 or WC78.  Art Deco cooool... '<img'>   Downside is it's nasty to work on (for my limited skills anyway).

My second choice would be the two selection Cavalier 55.

Tough to argue with the Vendo 63, though.  Inside and out a design for the ages.

Never had a USS-64 but that's what I want for my own machine (small and does cans or bottles).  In terms of looks I'm partial to the VMC56 or VMC77's.  77's are not as common but they are a little deeper and hold a few more bottles.

I gotta say, so far, I like the V63 much better than the USS-64. The Cavalier seems much more flimsy than the Vendo. Option wise, the Cav beats it, but construction wise, I dunno.

Bubba I disagree. I have found that the Cavalier's are much more sturdy. The Vendo's are more simple but in my opinion the Cavalier's are a rock. I have owned about an equal amount of both and I also like the Cavalier's more. But I am really not a big USS series fan. They are too big and boxy. I really like the early CSS-64's and 55's. I picked up one of each today. I will post pics tomorrow evening.

loman4ec... thats interesting. I should take a better look at mine USS then.. both the coin door and the main door seem very flimsy to me. When I close the door on the Vendo, you know its sealed. When I close the door on the Cav, it sounds like a tin can. I haven't seen any of the older Cav's yet.

Bubba, I will give you that. If yours is the 80's version USS-64 with the black coin door it was made slightly thinner. Not really thinner but I don't think there was as much reinforcement on the coin door. Maybe they were cutting back. I think I have figured out why I like them better. They are probably made to the same standards but it must be that I like working on the Cavaliers more. It might be that I have just had better luck with them but they just seem to go together better. Either way they are both great machines.

Yeah.. mine is stamped on one of the labels as a 1981. I was almost to the point of taking the door off and giving it to a guy in my shop to try to fab a new door with a bit more metal. I like having 8 slots vs. 7 but there is no precool space for extras in my Cav either.
