Here's one for Dave - but the rest of you can listen in.
In the graduate level Instructional Design class that I am taking this semester (at Purdue here in Indiana) we are doing a week long on-line activity with some students at Staffordshire University.  Is this anywhere near you?  Is it a good university? I am just wondering out of my own curiosity.  We will just be discussing the design of some electronic instruction.  (Just for your info, Purdue is about 2 1/2 hours south of Chicago - which translates in to a 2 hour drive for me each way.)

hi,
Staffordshire ist between Manchester and Birmingham. Dave ist from London, I think.
And yes Staffordshire is an excellent University, they won an award for the best teacher training in 2002 or 2003. Many classes are rated excellent.

Yep, so we are talking the northern half of England rather than London Town in the South.

Hi Ya Doctor

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Yep Staffordshire is North of where I am. I'm about 40 miles from central London and Staffordshire is probably
a good 2hrs from me.

I have to confess that I don't know much about the University so Iasked a few of my recruits who have come
more or less straight from University. It is not in the Oxbridge league but has a fairly well thought of reputation.
It started life I beleive as Agricultural so I would imagine their expertise would lay in that field (nice pun)

Don't know what its like in the US but here students tend to choose what University to go to on reputation or even which is closest to the "place to be." Rarely I think, is it what Campus is closest to where I live. We are only a small country so travel isn't too much of an issue.

If I remeber rightly Kito has taken full advantage of the English Education System and is probably better placed than me to tell you about it all. The only University I went to was "The university of life." Right now that hasn't got me too far with my job.

Cheers

Dave

Oh and Lancaster is also a Northern town. Closer to Scotland than London. Up kinda near Manchester, etc.

I've heard of Staffordshire, but know nothing about their University.
