hello everybody,
Have just sent my C-51 to the painter. He said it looked like I had done very good prep work. Was worried..alittle. Still have plenty to do here. Can not wait to finish and show off here. I have "completely disassembled the bottle belt and painted with silver hammer paint. Think is going to turn out great once back togeather. Was thinking of painting the interior box hammer paint "red" and "all other" interior parts hammer silver. The hammer red is pretty darn close to the Centari i'm using. Was just looking for opinions before I proceed.
Thanks,
doug

I think the red would look great. I painted a couple of 27's red on the inside and they looked awesome. '<img'>

I disagree. I would go for the more origional silver hammertone.

I agree with Josh, I'm a sucker for original.  I would stick with silver inside.  Ultimately you need to do what looks good to you. ':<img:'>

I have to agree with Jed and Josh, when it comes to a restoration, I prefer original.

I have seen VMC paint the liners of 33's but I would lean toward an original look which in this case is Zinc. The Hammer Rite would be my choice too.

For what its worth the 27's that I painted red were originally red inside. The red looked really good up against all the other painted parts that were silver hammertone.  '<img'>
