I came across, and now own, my first machine. It was is ok shape and I'm in the process of restoring it. I was told it is a Vendo 56b. The machine seems to work fine, and I'm looking forward to stocking it.
I'll attach a picture of it after this weekend showing it's new paint job (I'll have a ton of crap on top of the machine just to tick someone off..lol). I'll attach a before shot as well.
After looking at a couple antique dealers in the area, I haven't found a chrome handle to replace the original rusty one. Is this readily available?
Also the front display sign is not the kind that lights up, but it is wired for one, so I was thinking of looking for one that lights up. Where would I find something like that?
Finally, the coin mech sticker had a 25¢ on it. Does this give a clue to the year? Should I replace that sticker with one that say 10¢, the shape is the newer rectangle shape not the older circle shape. Where would I get a new sticker?
I don't think restoring it to be authentic, would be as important as making it cool, but maybe I'm wrong. I'm also planning a different paint scheme then it had, I'm planning on painting it mostly red with just the area around the glass door, painted white.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Matt

Welcome to the board.
Kito loves it when you keep things on top of the machines.

You can try funtronics for parts, my catalog is home so I won't be bale to check it until later tonight. There's also soda jerk works that has parts for machines.
Good luck, can't wait to see pics.

Hello Matt,
Welcome aboard. The handle is avail. from funtronics and the Sodajerk Works, they are both sponsors here. 25 cents would be from the early 70's.
