Well, after picking up a Westinghouse Ice Standard and a Vendo 63 two weeks ago when a friend ran out of storage space, I swore to my wife that I would sell some machines.

Wrong!  Went through hellish Friday afternoon traffic to check out a round corner 56.  It was missing the coin mech and a few minor pieces that are repopped. Chrome trim was in pretty good shape.

The cabinet is dent free but has some rust holes above the louvers.  Every 56 that I have come across has a rusted out drain pipe that eats through the main cabinet....thankfully, on this machine, it is not fatal but will be a project machine no doubt.

The seller was heck of a nice guy too...he has a VMC 72, two VMC 33s that he was selling in case anyone is interested.  I think there were 1100, 600, 500.

This 56 will be cool again one day...just not sure when.  I've always liked the Vendo 56 since it was my first upright machine "find" 7 years ago.  This one was special too.  Even though it needs some work, it will probably be the only decent Vendo roundtop that I pick up for 350.00.

Great score.  How did this machine find you?

Hey Glen,
It was a local guy I know and keep in touch with on local leads.  He used to line up machines in front of his house on the weekends along a busy street in San Jose, CA.  He just moved and just does not have the time to tinker around with these projects. So I guess I am lucky and pulled the trigger sight unseen.  But I do not wish anyone to have to do the drive from Berkeley to San Jose on 880 on a Friday afternoon!  "Have machine, will travel" is my slogan I guess '<img'>
