Paypal use question

I've been doing some cleaning lately and I think I'm going to list a bunch of stuff on ebay after the summer vacations.  I think I might break down and get a Pay Pal account but I have a two-fold question that I can not find on ebay's or PayPal's sites.  I understand the different fees, but:

1) If you sign up with a credit card and someone pays you, do you get a credit on your credit card, or does it go in to a separate fund?

2) If it goes in to a saeparate fund, when you buy something do you get a choice of where the money comes from and how would you eventually "withdraw" your money?

1) It goes into your paypal account.

2) You will have the choice, you can buy things with the money that is in yuor account or you can have them send youa check for a $1.50 fee.  It does give you the option of where to take the money from, if you have money in your account that is always the first option that they give you.  If you register a bank account with them then you can send (withdraw) money to your  bank account for free.

1) No payments always go into your paypal account.

2) Not necessarily.  If you have a balance in your paypal account all future purchases you make automatically (and as far as I can tell this can't be changed) draw on that balance first.  Once exhausted you then have the option of paying from a bank account or credit card.

Thanks for the quick replys guys.  Can you set it up so ebay takes their fees from your PayPal account instead of a credit card?

Bryan's spot on. Couple other things. When someone buys something don't ship until you get the payment verification email. Don't keep a large amount of money in the account. In the fine print it appears that the account can be frozen on any complaint. Lots of nut cases in eBay land.

I have always gone into my sellers account and selected to pay the fees with my paypal account, I am not sure if you can set it up to be automatic.  

Another thing to watch out for are fake emails from "paypal".  I get a lot of these saying that my account has been frozen due to suspicious activity.  You forward these to spoof@paypal.com and they will let you know if it is legit or not...I have not had a legitamate one yet.

I also have a paypal debit card so I can buy things regularly on my paypal balance. It is great for paying for shipping things that you have sold on ebay. I love paypal. I had 10 ebay auctions end this weekend and only one of them hasn't been paid yet because he is sending a money order. Isn't that great 9 out of 10 auction paid for within 3 days.

You must have hit all the golden buyers, 9 out of 10 is great.  I also like the idea of using the paypal card for shipping.  That is a great idea. '>

I use both Paypal and Bid pay. Both have worked great.
