Adjusting thermostat

I am looking for information on fine tuning the thermostat.  I understand twisting the knob and it keeps it colder or warmer.  Currently my Vendo 126 will cool down to the mid 30s but won't kick back in until it is over 50.  The thermostat was replaced last fall after we moved.  There are two small brass screws in the thermostat and I am sure they are for fine tuning the device but I don't know which is which or which way to turn them.  Basically I have the thermostat set on 5 so the range is perfect, I just want to narrow the range when the compressor kicks on and off.

  You're right, the 2 screws on the back are for adjusting the differential between "cut in" and "cut out". If the temperature is about right, try turning the "cut in" screw clockwise a half turn. This will bring the compressor on line sooner or colder after being off for a bit. You are looking for a difference of about
5-7 degrees between cycles. Adjust the screws slowly, no more than 1/2 turn adjustments, each time. Run the machine and then try again. Also, make sure the machine full of product. This will allow the temperature to remain stable for longer periods.

Thanks for the info.  One question, is there a way to tell which screw is the "cut-in" or should I try one and do some experimenting?

We do keep it fully stocked all the time '>  I turned the rehostat to 5 1/2 and iced the cokes up a bit when the temp went below 32 so the 5 setting is the coldest I can go.  Once it kicked off the temp climbed to 55 before it kicked back on.
