BC...
According to my book you have a CARLTON ROCKET - 1950s gumball vendor.
“This large plastic machine is shaped like a space ship. The price for this machine
varies greatly depending on quality of the plastic. A very popluar machine, even
with non-gumball machine colectors. $75-$175.” -John CArri, author
“The Pocket Guide to Coin-op Vending Machines.” 2002
And thats a  3 year old book. Very Cool.... Looks to be in good condition with
original decal/label.
Nice keep sake from the store.

That rocket machine is the bomb!!  Straight out of the "Atomic Age".  If Elroy Jetson ever bought a gumball, that was the machine... ':p'

Hey Eric, good advice on keeping an eye out for ebay Acorns that have the embossed globe.  I recently picked one up.  Is the small 6 lb. globe the only one that was embossed?

I guess I'm pretty much an addict now.  I dropped off two machines at the powdercoater yesterday.  This can't be good... '<img'>

Quite honestly I think the colors I used are going to suck.  I ordered 1/2 pound containers of Olive Green and Cream from Eastwood.  I thought that would make a great looking two-toner.  When I got the powders I sort of changed my mind, but I used them anyway since I had spent the dough.  That will be a 1c/5c combo machine.

The other machine getting coated is a Vendorama glass top.  That will be red and yellow as they all seem to be.

I was pleased that he's charging me only $50.00 to coat everything for both machines.  Sounds reasonable but this is my first experience with powdercoating so what do I know... '<img'>

I'll post pics when I get them finished.

Really... that's a deal on powder coating... The minimum here is $75
That vendor I bought my Northwestern 33 has a garage full of Oaks (I'm guessing 50+) but I think he's a little high
$65 a piece he also has about 5 Vendoramas but I think they where all plastic globes '<img'>
But I like the looks... very 50's... But I think he wanted around $50 for one unrestored.
I'll get caught up in these Oaks like I did with 302 Western Electric telephones and end up with about 30! Ha
I'll need to narrow this down... But there are so many neat
little machines.......
