I know these aren't terribly rare or expensive, but I found this in a resale shop this morning and thought it would look good in the Rec Room.  Original cord was literally crumbing to the touch.  Didn't know if it worked, but took it home, cleaned, polished, rewired, and was making milkshakes by the end of the day.  Hamilton Beach circa 1950 Malt Shop machine.  Paid more for the cord than I did for the machine.  Can't believe how well it cleaned up

It’s always great to find a diamond in the rough like that, and get it for nothing. That’s what makes collecting so rewarding.

I've always wanted one of those to display on my counter, haven't really looked very hard for one so maybe someday one will find me. I know nothing about them other than I think they also made a 2 and 3 head version with the 3 being the toughest to find?

That's a nice size.  I bought a triple head machine and it is pretty large for my kitchen counter. I would like to buy a smaller one in the Jade color.  Just make sure you remove the whole motor piece because there could be grime or old product caked in it.  If you are interested you can check out this video at time index 1.35 to see the grime.  I was surprised when I took mine apart and found this gunk.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gpLVLZ6-9Y&t=6s

A diner I have been going to for 30 years just closed. They had a 3 unit one and we all had milkshakes on the last day. For some reason they taste better made in the stainless containers on these...or maybe it’s psychological

I'd be contacting that diner... would be cool if you could get that mixer.
