Hey, Hey, a sure sign of spring.. my favorite local ethnic(independant) grocery stores are getting in cases of the 12oz. glass bottles of Pepsi,Coke,Sprite,Squirt & 7up. all up from Texas (Mexican bottlers) all made with real sugar! I'll be stocking up!  anybody else?     '>
couldn't post a picture of the bottles in "Announcements" & thought better of it, & I'll post it here...Jim , if you can delete it from the Announcements posting area, that'd be great!

You're in central Michigan, right?  How far off of US 27 (or is it now US 127) are these stores?  I pass up the middle of the state to go north of the Soo almost every year.  Maybe I'll have to make a detour on my way back down.

 I'm S.East actually, between Pontiac & Flint,
the stores in Saginaw are near I-75 & M-46
I have a local one here in Flint off of I-69 & I-475

Dr G, Us 27 takes you through the Michigan farmlands, so ethnic grocry stores should be found on your route. I would suggest the Mt Pleasant area (potato land), Jackson,(farmalnd) or if want a really scenic detour, the Traverse Bay area (nw tip of the Michigan mitten), |

Hmmmm, I usually stop in the Mt. Pleasant area for gas since it's about half way from the border.  I might have to slow down a little.  The area up north is nice, but I go about 2 hours north of US border along Lake Superior - about 20 minutes north of here: http://www.deepnet.com/~rcurrell/NatureNorth5.html (looks a little cloudy today).  Since 9/11 I get a lot of

Johnie, What's it cost a case up your way?  I had a source in SW Detroit who was giving it to me for 15 bucks a case.  He cannot get it anymore and everyone else wants 25 a case down here.  If its worth it for me, I might make a road trip to stock up for the summer. |

$15.00 a case! I wish! the price per case I got from the guy I talked to in the local mexican grocery store was $30.00+deposit, so it works out to $1.25/bottle, which isn't bad , until you start wanting more than two cases...last summer, I could get it for around $24.00/case, the story  I got was that Pepsi especially is trying to crack down on the independants & force them to use the local distributors to get soda from, of course they refuse to carry he glass bottles , only in plastic & with corn-syrup. I'm trying to work out a deal like last year to get a mixed pallet of sodas, it worked out to about $23-24/case, but I got stuck with extra cases when some locall guys I know didn't come through with their end of the deal...
I see your Avatar is the old OrangeCrush logo, you'll love to see this, last year ( haven't seen it yet this year) they had OrangeCrush, in retro style bottles...
