Was trolling craigslist and saw this. I like the junior due to its small size and thought this one looked like it was in pretty good shape and it was cheap, But a few things don’t look right to me.  Bear with me because I really don’t know anything about these coolers.

The ad said that it has been “electrified“. I see the cooling lines in the tub and was curious if this was something retrofitted after-the-fact or is this a “electric Junior“. The stainless looks too shiny, so I’m guessing it’s not original. Also, didn’t they reproduce the Westinghouse Junior? I definitely want to make sure it’s not that.  Thanks!

They did remake the Jr, both as an ice box and electric cooler, btw, when that happened it killed the value of the original Jr, sadly. I can't tell if that is one or not. As for the coils in the cooler shown, hard to tell if they are put on over the liner or if the liner is missing. Either way, unless that cooler is cheap, $250 or less, I wouldn't touch it. And that's if it's real.

Interesting! That’s a serious “home brewed “ cooling system...  laugh

It’s possible that it was an early attempt to make a “ dry” chest that was electrically cooled Coke jr.  ( thats a lot of work involved in the coil supports / brackets)   The other production electric jr,s were water cooled models.

Thanks guys. You’re right it was interesting.  Someone put a lot of time and effort into building this thing. They were only asking $125, So at that price it didn’t really matter what it really was so long has it functioned and looked good.  That and hopefully your hand didn’t become “electrified” too when you reach in it for a beverage.  tounge
