you guys know a good cleaner that i can soak these parts in to get the oxidation and crud off?

Seeing that is just pipe, you can use a wire wheel. I'm guessing that you're not taking it apart all the way so you wont have any wrench marks so I just would use full strength Simple Green and real hot water. Let it soak in a small bucket. and use Scotch Brite red or grey to clean it. Then I polish with flitz. Scotchbrite will scratch crome or flat shiny surfaces, but I don't belive it will scratch pipe..
