Hello,

Was visiting the Barrett-Jackson Auction in West Palm Beach today and couldn't resist showing that people are still creating these machines and looking for premium prices!
Asking price was $12,000! ! !

Holy Cow!
Watching the speedvision coverage of the car auctions. Things a bit nuts there as well. Enjoy the road trip!!

Well if you were watching the show and saw the 53 Buick that sold for 1.6 million and was wondering who the guy on the phone was. Well I have to say I am a big Howard Hughes fan and have always wanted one of his cars. So when I saw this baby I knew I just had to have it.

Oh sorry I still can't help you with who the guy on the phone was that won it!  '<img'>

Jim - just curious - were they attempting to pass that machine as original or were they disclosing that it was a modified version?

Looks like they did a great job on it.  ':p'

Bob,

I didn't get an opportunity to talk with the guy... He was pretty busy and I had some people I wanted to talk with so I just snapped the photo... The machine was nicely restored.

And yes, I have to agree with Eric, it's ashame the destroy a rare cooler to create a ficticious machine...

Steve,
Can you elaborate and tell us the story...? I saw the car and other than Howard Hughes owning it; I couldnt believe the money it went for!

Nice machine, but boy, you'd have to really like the color orange in your home to buy that one.

Boy, I know it's evil to butcher up machines like that , but it sure is pretty.  Kito if I had money tp buy machines like that I wouldn't worry about the color, I'd be able to afford to build it a room of it's own.

This machine was the hot topic a few years ago in club soda magazine, where's the "Magnificent Seven" when you need them?

I know one of the "Magnificent Seven" he has a large dispenser collection and we talk often. I mention this tread to him and he said to say hi to everyone. Then he told me a few store about the fake 81s, wow very interesting stuff.
