My first machine non-embossed 7-Up slider

I just acquired my first soda machine!

It is an Ideal 55 (the tag just says 55 not 55A or 55B). It has the coin mech that doesn't stick up past the lid (is that the Frankenstein?). It also has only one lid stop in the middle instead of one on each end.

I have gotten the coin mech working (it seems to have had a dime cam and a two nickle cam installed to make it 20 cents) and allowing one bottle to be removed.

It is a little worn on the outside but the insides have almost zero rust.

It is not cooling at this time. The fan and compressor are running (I did the rag int eh fan trick to see if the compressor was running and I heard on relay click and then the compressor vibrated and made a little bit of noise).

I am just bit north of Seattle and I think I have found a person who can work on the cooling system.

I plan to leave it original, just clean it up some and get it cooling again. I have also have some old Atari Stand up games from the 80's.

Can anyone tell me if this is the Frankenstein coin mech? Is there any availability of cams so that I could change the machine back to one dime and one nickle?

That is actually a Glasco mech. Not the right one for that machine but it is a nice looking mech because it's small and it will work.

This machine is a little different from the pictures of other 55 I have seen. There is only one lid stop and it is in the middle. The pics I have seen all show two lid stops (there are no indications that there were ever two lid stops). I can't see any marks or anything to indicate that this was not the coin mech originally put on the machine. Makes you wonder what the history of this thing really is.

       Cams stay the same, I learned from Tom that you need to remove the long screw that is holding the 2 lifter/locks together.
