I'm looking to buy an original Dr pepper square top vendo 81 or 56. It's like the vmc 81, only has square corners. It has the glass bottle door and big coin mech like a roundtop.  I'm in Moline, IL. Thank you

I'm not one who knows much about the square top machines, but from what I do know, is VMC only embossed 2 of the transitional machines.... the 7up and the Barqs.  All other transitional machines were non embossed.
Is it your intention to find a 56 /81 transitional to turn it into a Dr Pepper?

DP transitional 81s did exist, Just like the earlier round top 81 they had decals or porcelain signs attached. I had this rusty one last summer.

No. Trying to stick to Coca Cola and Pepsi only. I'll need an addition on my house if I start collecting Dr. Pepper. I must admit I feel Dr. Pepper collecting is in my future though. It does kinda look like a toilet bowl tank top.  laugh
