Sweatin' in Arizona... but it's a dry heat!

I know (ok - I think ':blushing:') that I've asked this question before but I couldn't find it on the boards even when I searched on my id... So, here we go again.

I'm getting to the point where I need to start thinking about getting the shell painted.  Want it to be in the 1960's colors.  Somewhere along the line somebody recommended Dupont#95605 for the blue.  Anybody have a brand and code for the red or white??

As usual - thanks for the help.

By the way......The info listed at the bottom are my own notes for my local paint guy. Concerning the "not telling them it's for a soda pop machine" When I originally called him and asked about the paint codes and what he had, he asked me in return what it was for, I told him it was for a soda pop machine. He replied that he thought that he heard me say a car, I said, No, a soda pop machine. He replied, NOOO, I thought you said it was for a CAR. Finnaly I replied, Oh yeah, it's for a car. He agreed that was a good choice. He explained to me that at that store they cant sell automotive paint for other applications. Not sure exactly why but that's how they do it. Hope this table helps.

Brian, that's interesting.  One time I asked to have glass cut, but told them it was for a soda machine. Was declined, said a public fixture must be tempered glass.
Was turned down on the phone , inquiring about who could fix refrigeration on an antique Coke machine. Don't tell 'em it's old and they'll fix it.
When shipping a machine, was denied insurance coverage because I admitted it had glass. Now I wrap the machine insure it's value and self insure the glass

Thanks Brian - your table doesn't include any recommendations on the Pepsi white or red?  Do you know if any of the Coke colors would work?

Bryan,

Hmmmm....not to sure on that one. A person I would call about that is Steve Jebb at Soda Jerk Works in California and can be reached at (559) 298-4684.

Moondawg,

Yeah I know what you mean......When I was trying to get a leak fixed and a vacuum pulled prior to filling, I couldn't find anybody that would touch anything old. I was told by a HVAC buddy of mine that works on the same base I do that it's all about money. There's zero money in a tech that's getting paid 20-25 bucks an hour to go out and charge an old soda pop machine. It isn't worth it to them to tie a tech up when they could be bilking somebody out of big bucks! I've gotten lucky with my glass and plate engraving and electrical supplies. Haven't had any probs with them....Maybe it's just a "Left Coast" things........ '<img'>  (remember I'm originally from Cali too!)
