Does anybody know the thickness and type of metal that is used in an Ideal 55?  The bottom pan that is used to sandwich the fiberglass between the bottom of tub?  Is it galvanized steel?  Most that I have seen are rusted out.
Thanks,
Buck

Unfortunately I cannot help you but there are many members who collect sliders that can. Three who come to mind are ltransam,  sliderbob and kbareit. I'm sure they will chime in but it not you can send them a PM. Great guys who are always willing to help.

Best wishes on your restoration!!!!!

Don't know the thickness but I had (3) made from an original.

Do you need one?

I use 23 gauge galvanized for the bottom sheet. If you can keep the original in one piece use it to lay out the new one. All you should need tool wise is tin snips and a hole saw. You should be able to get the metal at a HVAC supply house.
