Anyone ever seen or know of this Vendo model?  To me it looks like a VMC 88 cabinet with a Vendo 80 coin door.   Insides seem to be that of a Vendo 80.

I hate it when I find a machine that I like.....  why do I even torture myself and look on CL!  ARGHHHHHH

Looks like they converted an 88 to an electric machine, any photos of the inside to see if it could be changed back?  Is the Coke embossed?

It's listed as a Vendo 80....
This Vendo came out of Mexico.... as it is embossed "TOME COCA COLA."

A Vendo 80 from the US is an electric machine... so I'm simply guessing that Vendo took the design of a VMC 88 and the styling of an 80 (thus the door).... creating a VMC 80 is what I would call it lol.

Mexico and South America are well known in  the jukebox collector's world  for cannibalizing and jury rigging old jukes to get them alive.  It's possible parts were scavenged for this machiine to keep it in operation .

See.... this Mexican 81 above looks different to me too..... as with the one I showed.. the vents are differnet, the coin door is like an 80 (electric) and the door to me based on the pics seems to be in a different place than a reg. 81?
As well, the bottom kick plate is that like a VMC 88 or 72, rather than a 3" or so true kick plate....
I dunno... my eyes cant look at the machine for more than a second without being diverted lol

I just like the fact that there are machines out there that are different than the norm.  Embossed TOME looks cool  smile

Do you guys think this is a Frankenstein machine?  Or simply what was produced in Mexico?

I am guessing VMC used their cabinets and purchased Vendo equipment to supply the Mexican market.
