I've heard some pretty decent values being tossed around for the Stoner Jr's with Gum Wheel. What's the going rate these days for a nice unrestored but in good working condition machine?

The last one that I saw sell on EBay went for $2,000 and that was a few years ago.  Here is the thread showing the restored machine.

http://soda-machines.com/discussions/index.php/topic,12506.0.html

So if I remember correctly Frank won that EBay auction in the spring of 2010 because he restored it pretty soon after he bought it.  I have not seen one sell since then.  I might be willing to part with one of mine but I am planning on giving one to each of my boys when they get married so they can start their man caves early happydrinkers instead of having to wait like I did!

Give them each a theater so they don't have a reason to knock you off!!   tounge

I've been looking for a 6 pull with gum wheel and although rare and harder to find then theaters, I think they are a overpriced for what you are getting.

I've been looking also and agree they seem a little pricey!
My budget is in the $1300 - $1400 range; so if anyone comes across one by chance...  hopefull

The rumor going around Chicago show last November was that Jack Rudbeck was buying up as many as he could find and paying around 2800 for them..

I don't think I was the one that picked up the one on eBay for about $2K, although I did spend $1,500 on mine. And I'm still looking for someone to hook me up with a 5 pull display glass decal  biggrin Tim, maybe you could scan the one you have  hopefull

I'd love another one as well. I have the same plan. I did one for each of my kids. Theator for my oldest, Jr with gum wheel for my daughter, and the last one I picked up was a JR, and I'll mount a gum machine on the side. Haven't started on that one yet. All I know is it will be Yellow. Just so each one is a little different. Not sure what I'll do for a forth kid....

I just reproduced the decal/glass for a 5 selection; ask Leonard how it looks... I believe the display decal/glass style is for the square mirror stoner.
I can post a photo again if necessary...

If you have one, you had should call him quick to see if he is still buying! That's a lot more then I paid for the Stoner Theater with gum wheel that I picked up at the show.

How rare are the theater stoners with gum wheel ? I've only ever seen two or three come up for sale... I forget what the asking prices were but I remember it being pretty hight,  what's average retail on one ?

I don't think there is an average retail on something that isn't available for retail purchase. Regular Jr's and 180's, yes, those can be found quite easily at retail locations with retail prices way more then anyone here would pay. Don't confuse that with ebay or auction prices which would be a LOT lower then retail.

With the hard to find machines, I think Signguy has it right.. asking what people are willing to pay or the going rate, try to find out what the last sales were, and if anyone or thing is driving the market... Like he said, at the last show if someone was paying $2800 for the 6 pull w/gum then that would pull the entire market up. If its too high, they will pile up on his doorstep at that price.

Oo Tim you would have made a great politician, I find myself walking away after reading your reply completely satisfied,  yet confused realizing neither of my questions were actually answered  tounge lol I'm only kidding...  So the stoner theater with gum wheel is relatively rare ? Does anyone know what the " going " rate is or what the last few have sold for ?

Jim, I need a 5 selection for my JR with gum wheel. I thought the one for Leonard was for a Pastry Stoner? If I missed it I'd love to see a pic of that. I'd be very interested in one if you could do another.

If the coca cola cowboy is buying them for $2800.00 you better believe he already has a market established for them. Don't you know he is the luckiest guy on earth! he is the only person to have found original embossed orange crush machines, and Birelys machines and all the other rare  machines. and when I say rare I mean they are all VMC 81"s. They will not be piling up on his door step. LOL

My apologies for the misunderstanding! The glass I did for Leonard is for a 5 selection pastry model. I do not have an original 6 selection glass w/ gum/mint wheel to re-create the display glasses; however, rumor has it that my uncle just purchased a 120 w/ gum wheel so I will have access to an original soon enough...
I would be more than happy to create the display glass though ! ! !
