Just wondering what is on the front of this machine ? I was thinking a bottle opener. Although I see what looks like a place for an opener on the right beside the lock. Apparently it's a Vendo 92A.

it's a can opener for the old steel cans prior to the invention of the "pop-top"

It has a heated (sterilized) piercing can opener.

wow
When did those peel tab cans come to market?  Did Coke Pepsi etc... ever have the peel lids?  I remember as a kid having apple juice in a tin can with that peel top.  I remember how sharp it was too lol

Yes Pepsi and other brands used the peel style lids in the late 1960's.

I see, the Pepsi can is steel, only the peel strip is aluminum.
The next new all aluminum pop top cans with the disposable rings were a bad idea from the beginning, especially at lakes and beaches.
But broken glass had long been a nuisance there too.
Nowdays the whole plastic container goes from the lake to the river to a big collection site in the ocean  glare

Interesting. Knew it was for opening cans but didn't realize it was heated for sanitation.

Was this a common option ?

I just stumbled onto a Cavalier-55 with one on the door. Was this common to the 55 ?
