Adam, What kind of capper do you use? Hand or machine?
Why couldn't you just get some 3-liter Cokes and refill the bottles from them? Or does that cause the drinks to lose some of their fizz? Is using the Breakmate that much cheaper?

Paul, I went back and found My orig. calculations for the breakmate as opposed to a Can...... they are, after you have the syrup and supplies and 20 LB external breakmate tank (holds much more then the dinky little one) It comes out to 25cents for a can (AVG. including deposit) and . 0135 I.E. 1.3 Cents each for a Breakmate made pop supply. Going further I went and did a calculation for your situation basing it on an avg. cost of a 2 liter of coke @ $1.10 yielding approx. 6, 12 oz glasses. So 1.10/6 glasses = 18 cents a glass (not too shabby) But when I run the numbers with My breakmate I get back to that . 0135 per glass that's ( .18 / .0135) 13.33 glasses Of Mine for one glass from the 2 liter. That's 1333% savings/percent difference...........LOL. Seriously though lets get down to it, a breakmate costs say in total with the CO2 adapter and a 20 gal tank (external) hummmm around 400.00 . I have gotten them for much less due to luck and my willingness to tinker with them. OK so IM gonna go back to the 2 liter scenario, that's 18cents you would have to drink 400/.18 to break even that's 2,222 drinks then your home free, now 2,222 drinks divided 12 months is 185 of them a month for a year. So that gives you an Idea of how long you would have to wait to see a savings. Assuming your spending a Max of 400.00 you can get them for less I have seen them go for 250.00 ish on ebay etc. Hope that helps or maybe just confuses the issue.
here are some Key points:
Using the breakmate with the syrups they sell and the Small co2 costs you around 28cents for a glass..............IE NO DEAL
If you ditch the Small co2 buy 3 breakmate syrup boxes and refill you drop the cost to 1.3 cents each...........IE cheap
a can of coke costs avg. 25 cents
as for the bottling I use the lever bench kind See link above to the bottle caps its on the same page/ one like the one I use, Don't try the squeeze kind you will get tired quick the lever kind takes around 3 sec to cap the bottle (its a learning curve/ get in the groove of things kinda deal)
One major thing is when you buy pop in a 2 liter it still will taste like a pop from a 2 liter no matter what you rebottle it in. If you "make your own pop" its just like the fountain at any resteraunt/theater and will taste like a real glass bottled drink. Dunno how old everyone is but I recall glass and Its Much better tasting then cans or 2 liters :-)
Finally yes when you go to MCdonalds your being ripped off when you pay 1.15 for a pop, a funny tidbit Soda pop is the highest profit money maker for any restaurant, and the Movie theaters prices get real LOL
Hopefully I haven't bord everyone with this :-) have fun and reply if you have any other questions concerns or tell me my math skills stink........LOL

yes, I heard the pop only runs then about 5 cents in a fast food restaurant. The cups are a nickel too. They make extreme profit on fries too.

Great info, Adam! Thanks for sharing. I've never seen a Breakmate myself. But it sound like any fountain machine will work. It's interesting what you said about the tastes.

Well if you check My post a week or so ago I posed a picture I had saved on my PC of my breakmate. Yes your correct any fountain will work the breakmate just seems to be the cheapest/smallest footprint. You can even use a Wunderbar( soda gun used in bars etc)

Bringing back an old thread...I stumbled across Cheerwine tonight. Nice 12oz bottles with acl. Something I hadn't seen around here before. Only 2.59 a six pack, so relatively decent price for glass. Real cane sugar. Haven't tried it yet.
