OK, I know I must be making this harder than it is but I can't seem to remember how this sign frame goes back together and mounts on a Cavalier 64 USS-8-64K-DP 1972 model. Any know how this works?

Do you have the rubber gasket that goes with the frame?

Take a look at this Ebay listing, the 5th photo shows the back of the sign, should give you a better idea how to put it back together.

Looks like you're learning one of the many lessons about tear-down...take a ton of photos so you can reference later!

That one is different than most of the USS signs I have seen, does your sign stick out of the machine an inch or two?  I have seen a few like that, and it seems like the brackets are right for that

Have you been able to find a manual for that machine?
As I reassemble my v56 I keep the manual and the Picts I took open on my work bench. Using the parts diagrams and my Picts I've been able to figure out how a lot of stuff goes back together.
