I have been fortunate enough to be able to pick up some cool items the past few years on the day after Thanksgiving and this year proved to be no different.  While no great rarities I think there are some cool stuff.   The first is a Dole Citation Dispenser.  Although dirty it looks like it will clean up nice.  The second are some vintage syrup jugs.  The last is a pretty cool Home Handbook that is from Whiteville, NC and appears to have a listing of the placement of Coke Coolers in that area from early 1966 through 1971.  I am not sure the pictures will come through clear so here are a few examples this book shows:

Whiteville Blanket License Coolers Placed
October 1, 1968 through October 31, 1968

Date                   Dealer                      Model        Serial    New or Used
10-8-68    Waccamaw Bar-B-Q Hut     C6-2440     547176      Used
10-23-68  Bladen Co. Tech Institute    C6-2440     547202      Used

Pictures coming.....

Cool stuff. I assume the Waccamaw BBQ Hut would have been in the Myrtle Beach area.  Great when you can find pieces that have a local history. Where in NC are you located?

Speaking of Black Friday, did you see this story?

http://dailycurrant.com/2013/11/30/woman-kills-three-for-last-x-box-at-chicago-wal-mart/

Obviously, this is satire but it would not surprise me to one day hear this as a true news story.

Thanks for the comments

cola62,

I guess that Waccamaw BBQ Hut could have been the one in SC.  Interesting though as Whiteville is in NC, but who knows how the coverage worked as it is only about 1 hour 15 mins away.   You are right about the local history as it is so neat to see where some of these coolers where located.  I am seeing everywhere from Crystals Trailer Park to the Planters Warehouse.   By the way I am located in Holly Springs NC just outside of Raleigh.

mznb1u,

Yikes on that post.  I know it is not real, but as you say it would not surprise me either if someday it was real.
