At some point my luck has to turn around.. looked a 39 this weekend, nice shape, a few dings, scratches where they tried to open the coin door without pulling back the dispensing arm, and wouldn't take less than #2500. "We have seen them go for 3900, so we think it's a good price. It's also prolly why it was also for sale when I came through last Ausgust
And if that wasn;'t enough, came across a v44,, with a buy it now for 2200, pictures looked great, seller sais it ran, got cold, no rust. also didn't mention anywhere it was 44... i shoulda bought it right them, it was local, no shipping charges...but No, I had to ask a question about the serial number...., he must have researched the machine after he got my email , and now the auction, did i mention the SAME auction has been revised, starting bid is 3,000 is with a buy it now for $4400...
I no longer will be feeling guilty if I find a great deal, I won't lie to anyone, but i won't volunteer all the facts anymore either. If I sell a Van Gogh for a buck or 3 at a garage sale . it's my fault
sorry. Done venting. Carry on

Follow his auction. He won't get that high a starting bid. When the auction expires, (or before) tell him you will pick it up for $2200 cash, he does not have to crate and ship it.

Kilroy.... don't kick yourself.... I'm like that... That's one reason I started this topic. I'm getting pretty good calls and leads off my ad and when I start talking or start over thinking that's when I get into trouble. Never offer any more info than you need and never take too long. I've lost several round tops that way... Don't burn your bridges.... But you don't need to educate them either. Everybody has the ability to get information about what they have. If they don't that's their fault.
Here's where I'm at as of now with these ad replies 1. Iv'e got one guy thinks he has a fortune in 2 Vendo-23s 2. I've got another guy with a Coke glascock and 2 Coke Westinghouse standards and is not sure what he wants to sell or not (also has a neighbor that has a “rounded corner” nickel Coke machine by their garage under a tarp) So I gotta act interested in the coolers (I already have these models) to get the dirt on the round top. 3. Another guy has a RC Ideal slider in a barn that was there when they bought the place.
I have a auction with a few good soda pieces that I want to go to first then I'm gonna follow up on these. I like Pats advise to go and just talk... let them see I'm a collector not someone who's there to rip them off and resell. Cause in reality I'm gonna keep what I can find. This stuff is hot, HOT right now and is money in the bank. I can trade or sell later down the road.
Your luck will turn around.... As you can see with what I've found in 2 weeks from doing nothing more than running a cheap ad in the free papers the stuff is still out there.
Oh and another good lead right at work... A sales rep heard me talking about a soda machine... He said he has a friend who has one in their basement “takes a dime and you turn a little crank”.... oH YEAH .... I'LL BE STAULKING THIS GUY! '>
Good Luck..... Will keep you all updated with the out comes of these leads.

Kilroy, don't get down on this we all have a time when we can't close a deal and yes some time we do offer more information than what we should and shoot our selfs in the foot. Look at Eric, he has alot of pans in the fire and his ad is working great for him he should come out of that with a few . my way I have few fingers out there feeling around, But this one was just luck and thats it. And in both case's to get that item we both have to talk to that person and listen to them. So keep trying Kilroy don't give up.

I only run my ads in spurts. I will run it for about two weeks and then not run it for three or so. Sometimes I get more calls when it's not running. I have run ads and not gotten any calls for weeks or at all out of some papers. It seems that when the calls start to come they don't stop for a few days and then you don't hear anything for a few weeks. I was really feeling down there for a while when I was only finding 7 feet tall push button machines. But the worst thing is I was buying them.
