I was watching an auction on the computer the other day trying to get a few Coca Cola machines, signs & lights.  Everything I wanted went for crazy money.

There were a bunch of gas pumps, several restored ones but quite a few unrestored.  I have always wanted one for my garage, but they sell for crazy money here locally.

I threw out a bid on an older Wayne gas pump and got it fairly cheap.  After seeing that, I threw out a few bids on a couple other unrestored pumps.  I now own 3 gas pumps.  tounge  I would have owned 4, but someone that was there at the auction outbid me on a beat-up Mobil Gilbarco.  I dropped out when it went over $300; I guess he was determined to take one home since I had snagged the previous 3 pumps.

I plan on restoring a Gilbarco Model 96 and most likely selling the other two to offset the cost.

Are any of you guys into restoring gas pumps?  As was stated in another post, this site is great and full of friendly, helpful people.  Is there a site similar to SMC for gas pumps?  I imagine that there may be a few, so which one is the best?

Where are you located?  I may be interested in one of the other pumps.

Kilroy nailed it, tread lightly on oldgas, some of the guys are super nice, some are jerks, especially to new members.  I suggest not using flippa as a username over there, most of the veteran members despise people they consider pickers and I think they would perceive flippa to mean you flip items for profit.

Been on old gas since 2009 and would never use the word flip or pick just use for sale or trade never the picker word.

Thanks for the advise guys.

Guess I will need a new screename over there.  smile

I have had the nickname flippa since 1975, long before the Internet and Pickers.  It is after the dolphin because I would swim underwater and could hold my breath for so long.

Mess with them and reverse the spelling.
And don't forget several people here have  restored, or restore  gas pumps, so feel free to ask questions.
