http://littlerock.craigslist.org/cto/4144247126.html I don't usually go to much for car restorations or trucks either for that matter, but man the colors on this one just sizzle! $13885 - Much wampum indeed, but it looks like a lot went into it, too. I'm not in the least qualified to judge the overall quality of the restoration, but those colors will definitely make one take notice.

Awesome looking but hard to get that kind of money on it. Restored cars and trucks are more of a passion than an investment.

nice truck, don't like the wheels.
I had the exact same truck as a kid, with 3 on the tree... really loved it.

Stripe down the side remind's me of a Chevy Impala. Must have been the era for that look.

I agree with Eric, the wheels do not fit the era. Nice appearance overall but it bothers me that painted the master cylinder.

Yep - looks like with the motor out they just 'hosed down' the engine bay with the paint gun. Sloppy/Lazy work. Agree on the wheels, the truck looks mostly stock from the outside - why put silly modern wheels on it? To each his own I guess. Problem with that truck is it is someone's "dream truck" but custom work is custom work - he's going to have to find someone else who happens to have the same dream. Jim

I just liked the colors. 327 V8 with 2-speed automatic. As in stop and 65 MPH? I bet this thing guzzles gas. I wonder if fuel economy is rated in yards to the gallon. On the other hand, most people who could and would plunk down 14 large on something like this probably aren't overly concerned about fuel economy.

Well,,can be the case especially if it's one restored by owner but if someone buys a fully restored classic, lets say a 66 SS396 for $35,000. It it's taken care of as it should be, your odds are you'll get your money back or possibly more. Much better investment than financing a new car which everyone knows, 4 years down the road, you've lost half the purchase price, not counting interest on the loan. Also a good point when trying to convince your wife of such.LOL http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Chevelle-396-big-block-4-speed-12-bolt-very-clean-car-bucket-seats-looks-excellent-/281193793442?forcerrptr=true&hash=item417874c7a2&item=281193793442&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

New cars never seem to live up to the purchase price. Junky plastic parts, apathetic ignorant dealers, production quality and engineering so deliberately poor that certain parts must have been intentionally designed to fail just after the warranty expires.
To top it all off, they lose nearly a third of their value as soon they leave the dealer lot.
You can't even buy a new pickup for 14 grand anymore. The closest equivalent new truck would probably be at least $24K, maybe a good deal more. Wouldn't be half as well made, especially in the body and interior.
