Thanks johnieg,
Appreciate the advice.  I was able to fix the coin return lever by slowly  'nervous' taking things apart and noticing what the problem was.

The procedure you mention above is a bit over my head unfortunately.

An new problem, though.  There's a switch on mine when held in the up position spits out nickels from the coin holder.  Suddenly that seems to be stuck "on".  I hear it humming, and moving the switch up and down has no effect.

This mech has gremlins in it!  'angry2'

Thanks, Bob

Well, I fixed the coin return situation - a little patience and slow disassembly and that did the trick.

Thanks johnieG!

Now the coin mech gremlins still do not want me to indulge in a cold one  'sneaky'2.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='sneaky2'> .  You know the switch near the bottom of the mechanism that, when pulled up, dispenses nickels out of the bottom?  Suddenly that seems like it is stuck "on", as it just drones away and won't shut off.  No nickels come out either.  What happened?
Can someone help me with this?  Im thirsty  ':p'  ':p'

Thanks, Bob

if want to install a free vend sw you want to jump the #1&#3
pins on the female side where the mech plugs in i use 1/4 male spade term crimp you wires first and insert in the back of the block where the wires go in and install a toggel sw
to find 1 & 3 look at the face of the male plug or if you want it to free vend all the time and your machine has a vend relay take off plastic houseing and put a rubberband around it to close the contacts
good luck  '<img'>  '<img'>  '<img'>
