Reading the thread on Frostie Root Beer reminded me. Around here, store sell IBC Root Beer in glass bottles. I don't think I've seen in any other packaging. Has anyone else here tried it? I think it has quite a bit of snap to it, more so than Mug, A&W, or even Barq's. It's my favorite of those. Never tasted Frostie, so I won't even try to compare.

Has IBC branding ever been used on a soda machine? According to Wikipedia (FWIW), IBC originally stood for "Independent Breweries Company".

Here's a pic of a seis-pack.

I'm not a big fan of Root Beer, but my wife loves it. Her favorite is IBC then Barqs. IBC is only sold in bottles and readily available at almost every store and BBQ restaurant in Texas. I don't believe they ever had a machine made to sell their products. Could be wrong.

Have it here in Missouri drank it all the time when we were kids... I still think A&W from the tap is best.

The closest I have ever come to drinking A&W from the tap would be a modern soda fountain, and I'm not even sure I tried it then.

I have drank pre-mixed A&W though. It isn't bad. I prefer IBC though. It's not really so much the flavor. Flavor-wise, most brand are about the same to me. I like IBC's "snap". Not really sure what you call it, that sort of almost tangy almost spicy quality. I guess that's what Barq's means by "bite." To me, IBC has the best "snap", or "bite".

It's not wise to drink a lot of it though, I think it may have given me a headache from overindulgence a time or two.  drinking  darn

I would say Mug Root Beer is probably my least favorite. Seems very weak, almost tastes like Pepsi mixed with A&W. Not a good combo, IMO.

Jones Soda makes a pretty good root beer, IIRC. Sweetened with Cane Sugar I think. If it had as much snap as IBC, it'd be in close competition.

Barq's works well enough if you want "root beer now, dangit!" As close as you can get to IBC without being IBC.

I think A&W and IBC were once both bottled by Dr. Pepper/7-Up.

Just loaded one row in the newly installed Vendo 63 with IBC. Sold here in Alabama just about everywhere.

I like IBC but think A&W in the bottle is the best.

I always wondered if there was an IBC machine after I saw the "since 1919" on the six pack. I really like their cream soda more so then their root beer.

My Worst = the huge jug of homemade root beer I bought in Amish country for $4

IBC is available here in New Jersey in all the Wal Marts. It has a nice taste but my favorite is Dads in a glass bottle. The big pure cane sugar bottler here in NJ is Boylans...there Red Cream is incredible!

Rebel, you mention putting this in your v-63.  It vends out of that?   I've found on mine that the bottom width of the bottle is slightly too large to vend out of mine......any secret?

The size of the bottle opening in a vendo bottle stack is adjustable.

I like the diet IBC out of the bottle.   It helps offset the 3 mexican cokes i drank!   I seen Frostie in bottles the other day here in Michigan, was going to give them a try.  Any thoughts on those?

Dave,  I've tried the Frostie, pretty darn tasty. At least the Root Beer was, Didn't try the other flavors. I believe the same guys who are bottling Towne Club are also producing Frostie

Moondawg is correct,,,they are adjustable and do put in my 63.

By the way,,,saw Stewart's Root Beer in bottles at our local Walgreens yesterday. Has been many years since I've seen Stewarts around. Any of you tried it ?
