Ok guys, so I've been on the hunt for a Vendo Galaxie dispenser to go along with my Scotsman ice maker. I paid next to nothing for my ice maker and it is in excellent working condition.

So I've come across 2 Galaxies with the ice makers in the last month, both in California. So I reach out to these gentleman and I'm thinking they'll be asking somewhere in the $1500 neighborhood. WRONG.
Both want $4000 for their units. (That's the dispenser and icemaker together, they wont sell the Galaxie separately) Totally separate sellers. Each give me the whole Rick Restoration bit about how they are worth $6000 restored, blah blah. Game over, that's always where I shut it down.

So that brings me to here and I need to know is this insane, or is that what these things actually go for? Coke dispenser collectors are definitely more of a niche compared to machine collectors. I cant imagine a Vendo Galaxie alone being worth more then $1000-$1500, even though I am aware it is one of the more sought after models. Thoughts?

Pic included is the one from a guy in Sacramento. He wanted $4500 packed and shipped.

No way they go for that much.  I agree with $1000 - $1500.  Tell him to stop drinking the Ricks Restoration Koolaid.  None of his show items ever sell the story line is just a set up.

I sold a pair to a dealer a few months ago for $1200.00. He has a buyer in Canada for these so I imagine he's getting over $2K.

Maybe Jarred knows a little more, I think he helped unload that little sucker.  biggrin

Yes, I unloaded that King Kong machine from the back of a flat bead trailer.  Like some machines you can lean into to move this one I bounced right to the ground practically! laugh

There were (2 ) machines one was larger than the one pictured.  The smaller one I think it sold for $1750, ( way to much) .  Easy to spend that when it's readily available and you have go to buyer!

That is a lot but it would be nice to have a complete one , every one I see is missing something . The top sign or some of the dispensers are always gone.

Yeah this is the other guy. He told me $4000, but hey now I feel like he was offering me an insider's deal.
