I came across this square top today and the ad reads "This one happened to be professionally converted from a bottle machine to a can vending machine when it was still in commercial service."

If memory serves, an insert was put in so it would vend cans. If this is the case, can it simply be removed so it vends bottles again or is it more complicated than that? Seller is asking $100 and per the ad it gets cold and vends.

Thanks in advance.

It appears to be a late-model Vendo Thrift-vend V63 series, in which case, it has an entirely different vending stack & shelves, not a simple snip & clip conversion back to bottles, see the topic "Converting from bottles to Cans" & you'll see what I mean.   here's the link...http://soda-machines.com/discussions/index.php/topic,8208.0.html

Not that it makes much difference, but that is a late model 56. Same bottle/can stack as the 63 but shorter shelves.

As bottles become more expensive and harder to locate, I believe these can stacks will become more desireable in the future.

That is an excellent $100.00 buy, parts value alone.  Where else could you find a working compressor, coin mech. can stack and shelves for that price if you needed them?

Thank you for the advice and knowledge.  Upon further inspection, his price on CL is $100 but on ebay $100 is the starting bid with a buy it now of $300.
