GREETINGS YA'LL
The condenser fan,and evaporator fan run.
The compressor runs for 30 seconds(one thousand one etc method) and then shuts off.
Any ideas?
The fans keep running.
The machine is a C-55d.
I did not see any kinks in the tubing.
It has a new Start Relay, Capacitor & Overload Relay(1/5hp),from funtronics.
(If anyone needs one they are half price direct from supco.com part#RCO810)
I am going to double check my wiring.

Sounds like its tripping the overload. The compressor might be larger than 1/5 hp. I'd start there and verify having the right 3 in 1.

Yep, sounds like your compressors tripping the overload, I cant imagine a C55d having anything bigger than a 1/5-1/4 HP compressor, so I'd say you could try the 1/4HP 3-in-1 but in my opinion it's time for a new compressor. because even if it worked, the compressors probably on its way out.

A 3-in1 replacement overload start/run relay is very handy to replace a defective OEM start/run relay, but also take into account that you are dealing with a 50+ year old unit. You'd have to measure the running amps with an in-line plugin style Amp/wattage meter like the sell at home Depot ( down the electrical isle) & compare it to the nameplate FL amps (full load running amps) I betcha a doughnut hole that you'll see a very high current indeed.

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!
The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p
Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor
11 is louder than 10...
"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Well I know what I charge to rebuild compressor decks, but other folks charge differently, kinda depends on the machine & where you're located ( what I'm trying to say is there is no "standard" price per-say  )

IS THIS A FAIR PRICE?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tecumseh-Compressor-NEW-AEA3417YXA-R134a-1-5-HP-BOM-AE520AT-727-A4-/261202178696?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cd0dcf288

Any idea what a fair refrigeration labor cost is?

the single compressors on ebay are a 1/6hp... too small for a V81 or similar machine.

the others, are modern machines, for modern coke boxes, Dixie Narco, Vendo, Royal Vendors,
etc.. decent price on those, for a 'push button' machine, if looking for a used piece of equipment.
