That would be rad to get up and going and especially get the pump running to squirt water!

I've always thought it would be cool to have a business with a fire truck and go to local hospitals and surprise the kids, or other patients for that matter.  I know a fellow firefighter that had an old fire truck, he dressed up as fire clown and did birthday parties, and other requested events!

I think the are cool as well... I almost pulled the trigger on one a few years ago and that was at 5000.. boy of this was closer... I'd be very Very tempted... how cool...

but then there is the other side of me.. where to put it, do  I really need it , $$ to restore.. blah blah...

If anyone is in the market for a fire truck, check out GovDeals.com,  they have a whole catagory for communities selling fire trucks.  Most not as old as this, but the old ones pop up fairly regularly.  Its an interesting site to look through. Knowing that these vehicles are high dollar when new, it is amazing what they go for once decommissioned. Here's the link showing the ones sold in the last 60 days.

That's a cool site. Gives me something to look at while at my son's swim meet this morning. There is a 1974 GMC that looks pretty nice!

         A few years ago a guy living in Malibu had a restored antique firetruck.
         When the hillside he was living on burned, he was not only able to save his house but 10 of the houses around him.
         He didn't make a dime off his truck but got a heck of a lot of "atta boy" awards

A friend of mine in North Carolina restores them and brings them back to life and fully functional. Along with building hotrods he alway's has one going on in his place.
