Anybody know anything about these machines? What it is? Who makes it? I need a road-trip,thought I would make min bid and see if I get it. Would make a nice little beer machine with some new graphics and a little work.

Coinco CT-48.  Great little machine.  I have two of those in good working order.  I was lucky to get good deals on both of them--I believe under $100 for each one if my memory serves me correctly.  My son has one in his dorm room at college and it has more than paid for itself.  Pepsi has a contract with the college and you can't get a Coke anywhere on campus--except for my son's dorm room.  He keeps the machine stocked with Coca Cola products at 75 cents a can.  Gives him a few more dollars for pizza on the weekends!

I haven't decided what I am going to do with the other one.

I think I will get one of these. Be a nice addition to the garage and it hangs on the wall. Does not seem to be real hard to find parts for compared to my LaCrosse. Anybody on here into these or the resident coinco ct 48 guru?

So if it says it does not cool and I can get it for minimum bid $25 and I'm only going to be less than two hours away it's not worth it? You can't fix it or use it for parts or sell parts? I would not have $75 in it if I got the minimum bid and gas. Help me out here I'm new at the game of soda machines I'll go buy what you guys say are these hard to fix? I'm looking for something like this for my garage.

If you can pick it up for $25.00 go for it. I would just hang on to it as a parts machine then see if one could be found that is fully functional. If it doesn't cool depending on what the problem is you could spend up to $300.00 to get it to cool (worse case bad compressor). These machines can be had fairly cheap so if you can find a good one you'll have plenty of parts.

If you can get it for $25, I agree with Ken.  Grab it for parts.

The vend drawers on those can break and while they are still out there, they tend to be pricy.  The internal rack is another piece that can be easily removed and used in another machine.  It also uses a standard Coinco mech and if that is working, it is worth more than $25.

It is a pretty small unit but Johnnyg or Eric may know of another application for it.

I think I will do as suggested, put a $25 bid in if I get it I'll use it for parts and see if I can find another by summer that works, if not I'll jump into that one and see if I can fix it. I get the ideal from post not to pay more than $150 for one that works in good shape. Thanks a lot guys and if anyone comes across one for a decent price and close to Indiana drop me a line.

Not sure how heavy these are but should be able to ship UPS so your search doesn't need to remain local.

The ones on eBay are charging $199 shipping, they say UPS is charging $50 extra over shipping because it is over 50lbs. and FedEx will not ship this item? They weigh 130 + lbs. I'll drive a little bit if the price is right my truck is not bad on gas (v6). I like dinner food so if I can stop and get a good fried chicken or meatloaf blue plate special I'm ok with that. I found these links, anybody want in on this? LOL!

In Michigan almost all of the CT-48's that I have seen were done up in Pepsi.  In recent years, I have seen a number of them with no markings on them but with a magnetic frame with a copy of a famous painting in them.  I don't think Coke used these machine too much.  I can remember a company pitching the bank that I worked at these machines back in the early 90's.  These ended up in a lot of the lunchrooms in our branches and they were all Pepsi branded machines but we could put whatever we wanted in them.  I know Coke will not allow non-Coke products in their machines.

my two cents anyway!
