I have a restored Stoner Theatre candy machine, and the light source has a rotating drum of different colors that light up the machine. Is this something that was original to the machine? I had pictured the light as just being white. Thanks!!

Every Theater that I have seen just has a plain flourescent bulb in it. Curtis is the expert though! Tim

I do believe its a fluorescent light, and it has this rotating drum of color that gives the effect of changing colors. My machine also has the optional gum dispenser, so maybe it's just another upgrade to this machine. The drum looks original, but I don't know.....

This is a aftermarket light kit used to make a regular Stoner into a light up. I've own 2 Stoners with those light kits. I actually really like them. You need to drill holes into the machine so there was always a debate on if it hurt the value of the machine but if it did or didn't it looked good.

Couldn't one of these light kits be put into an original Theatre model? How can I tell if its an original or a convert? I bought the machine with the impression that it was an original Theatre model. I also understand that the models with the gum dispenser is very rare....

Email me photos of your machine, front, back, inside door. curtis@retrovending.com or post on the site. Between myself and the guys here, we can tell you weather it's a real Theatre. Curtis www.retrovending.com

It's going to be a few days till I can get some pics. It's at the restoration shop right now. I bought it already restored, but it needed some new locks and the fluorescent bulb needs replacing. I'm not sure when it was restored, not recently. My buddy is fixing the locks on it. I'll send you pics later on in the week. Thanks for your help!!

Curtis will know for sure. There are also many after market kits added to non-theatres to resemble a Theatre.

This is a side question, but somewhat related... Where do you get the light kits? Is it something that someone sells, or makes up on their own?

I asked the same question before. It would be a great tutorial for us that have a Junior or 180, that they would like to add a light to it!

As far as I know there was a guy here in California who made them but this was years ago and from what I've heard stopped a while ago. I'm not sure if someone else out there also made them. I'll dig up a picture of one that I had and post it.

Can you post inside pictures? Type of light you used, and how you installed it? Did you drill a hole out the back for the power cord??

That looks pretty damn cool and a good idea. Seems easy enough. Looks like it might be a little bright but if so that would be a easy fix.

Can the bulbs be changed to make them slightly dimmer?

Sorry for the delay in getting back to reply to this post, but I used LED strips lights by the foot(X2) with 18 LEDS per foot. They come in warm white(2700-3000K), Warm white(3000-3500K), Nature white(4000-4500K), Pure white(5500-6500K) The ones I used. They are easily installed with the attached double faced tape, I routed the wire thru my base and out the back to a 9VDC transfer with a switch ...nothing fancy but does the job. Here there a link to where I got them from http://www.ledlightsworld.com/led-strips-flexible-led-strips-c-1_49.htmll ink list all the dimmers/controls available http://www.ledlightsworld.com/accessories-led-controller-c-60_63.htmlLet me know if there are any question Ray

I bought some of these too a while back.. and am planning on using them inside my stoner JR with Gum Wheel I'll be restoring this spring.. I tested them out and they'l fitt great.. they are super small and just adhere with tape.. just have to get creative on the wiring..
