That is very cool, and was local to me here in MA. I wish I was involved in that property redevelopment. I wonder if these machines were sold or were moved to someone's garage.
I work in the design side of the construction industry and often am one of the first to get inside inside some renovation projects around Boston. It is pretty crazy what turns up in old buildings that I have been involved with. More than a few items have gone home with me over the years.
I got into this hobby when I was given an Ideal slider that was left at a site in Brookline, MA. THere was a bunch of old chest coolers at the side of this lot, and when I asked about them, the superintendant asked "Which one do you want?"
He told me that the house was full of old vending machines, and the demolition guys took home all the good ones prior to knocking the building down. The chest coolers were the scraps that were left over.
They didn't throw the vending machines out because the super was a collector too, and knew someone would want them.
