I finally joined the club today...didn't get a great deal, but it was only 20 minutes from my house and it's the first time I've seen one for sale around me.

Haven't joined the club yet, but a 20 minute drive can't be beat!

Congrats!!  Restore it.  The Stoner Theatre is one machine that should be restored no matter what the "original wood grain" condition is.  They look great when they are done right.  Maybe my nicest piece.  That is my daughter standing next to it.

I found it on Craigslist....not sure if I'm going to restore or not. I'm going to clean it up first...but I think I'm leaning towards restoring it because the wood grain does nothing for me. What's the going restore rate?

Welcome to the club!!!

Good solid machine you have there. Mine has a rusted out base and missing the clear bulbs in the light assemly and yours on the other hand looks to be complete.

Nice snag....especially to find one on craigslist since they don't come up for sale that often.

Look forward to seeing some pictures.....cleaned up or restored!!!

Normally I would not recommend that you spend $5000 on anything except maybe a Craigslist original 1980s square corner soda machine (just kidding) but its different on a theatre.  These are perhaps one of the nicest restored  "classics' in our hobby.  I did mine myself but Curtis helped me every step of the way.  It was also almost 10 years ago.

I would spend the money (save if you have to) and do it right.  You won't lose money on it if divorce, college tuition, or a crack cocaine habit take precedence and you really need to sell it.

They are unique and beautiful when done right.

Good luck with it.
