I remember very well.  It was the day I received my first text message on my cell phone.  It was from my little sister who worked a couple of blocks away from the WTC.

It said:   "tell Mom and Dad I'm OK".

11 years later and still my favorite text message ever.

I watched Tower 1 burn, and Tower 2 come down. It was a day I'll never forget.

I thought the same thing.  I work for a fire department and we didn't even do anything as a organization.  I read a few articles today in the local paper, and even some other newspapers that people are ready to move on!!! Oo

I'm sorry folks but we cannot forget what happened to us on own American soil.

343 Firefighters lost there lives to save other innocent people.  How do we forget??

Anybody else notice what happened today in Cairo Egypt?Huh?

"Protesters destroy an American flag pulled down from the U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. Egyptian protesters, largely ultra conservative Islamists, have climbed the walls of the U.S. embassy in Cairo, went into the courtyard and brought down the flag, replacing it with a black flag with Islamic inscription, in protest of a film deemed offensive of Islam. Just finished up "No Easy Day", the Seals story on the Bin Laden raid, well worth the read to get a better understanding of how much these soldiers put into the fight to keep us safe.  Great book.

My former manager at Lockheed worked in the Pentagon in the office that got hit that day.  He just happened to be on travel that day, its amazing to hear the stories of near misses and how easily it could have been anyone you know.
