Hi, I recently picked up a Cavalier CM-6W and would like to know if anyone has a circulator and removable opener/cap catcher or where to find one.I have to do a complete restoration on it because it has some rot at the bottom. The refer system runs but has a leak. I enclosed a pic and will post more as I go through the restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ken

Thanks, I just found a circulator that came out of a Westinghouse and it looks pretty close. Might have to do a little fab work but I think I can make it work.

let me know if you run across another Westinghouse circulator. Needing the shield and motor for mine.

No problem. If you run across one for a Cavalier I'm willing to trade.

FYI trivia on the Granger replacement circulation/agitator motor, if you notice, the extended shaft actually is sticking out the "bottom" of what normally would be the rear of the motor housing, (if the motor would be in a horizontal mounting position) this is so the bushing is able to bear the shaft in the downward position/orientation, so if you attempt to use a cheaper more common motor & mount it in the shaft-down position, it will seize up in short order. most unit-bearing motors of this type are only rated for shaft horizontal to shaft-up use only.

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

Have you completed your CM-6W? I am starting on one and may have a few questions. Mine is missing the rear cover that apparently is supposed to have a condenser fan mounted to it!

dtrappii also has a CM-6W posted and his embossed date code on the inside of the tank (above ‘Waterline’) is CC-51. That may stand for ‘Cavalier Corp. 1951’ but that doesn’t make sense to me at this time. Could you please post what yours is? It could help me out a bunch. Thanks for your help and sorry I couldn’t help you out. Ted

I made it to my storage unit and checked my tub and it is stamped CC-50-6. Toolbox I believe you are correct on the code meaning. The CC is Cavalier Corp and the 50 is 1950. I know mine was built in 1950 because I found a stamp on the compressor dated Aug 1 1950. As far as the 6 is concerned I have to think it means 6 case. Hope this helps.
