UPDATED** - AUGUST 14, 2013
Guys, I've been at this fairly solid for over 2 months now. I think I've got a market value figured out on what are FAIR prices on solid UNRESTORED machines. I'm only touching on the most popular machines. Most of my homework has been from throughout the south and the midwest. Feel free to tell me where you think I'm off.
DISCLAIMER: Obviously most the prices out there will be well over my high end price. But I've seen enough of these prices out there to know that you can get these machines in my ranges below with a little patience and diligence. On the flip side, I've seen machines for under my low price, but it is extremely rare and/or they are just scrap.
Low end - not working/missing parts High end - working, solid, all parts there, possible candidate for restoration
Vendo 81A - $1800 - $2300 Vendo 81B-D - $2000 - $2500 Vendo 56 - $2000 - $2500 Vendo 39 - $800 - $1000 (no drum) - $500 Vendo 44 - $2500 - $3000 (the one model that I never see anywhere for less then $3k) Vendo 23 (standard) - $400 - $600 - No bottle drum - $100 (deemed worthless to me with no drum considering they are impossible to find) Vendo 23 (deluxe) - $600 - $900 - No bottle drum - $200 Vendo 63 - $300 - $500 (woodgrain - $100 - $200) Vendo 80 -$700 - $1000 Vendo 83 - $200 - $500 Vendo 90 - $200 - $400
Cavalier CMD-D\C-12 - $300 - $500 Cavalier 27 - $700 - $1500 Cavalier 51 - $500 - $1000 Cavalier 55D - $400 - $600 Cavalier 55E - $700 - $900 Cavalier 72 - $1000 - $1500 Cavalier 96 - $700 - $1200 Cavalier CSS-64 - $200 - $400 Cavalier USS-64 - $250 - $450
Westinghouse Junior - $200 - $400 Westinghouse Standard - $200 - $400 Westinghouse Master - $200 - $400 Electric - $250 - $500 Westinghouse WD-5 - $300 - $800 Westinghouse WE-6 - $250 - $800 Westinghouse WD-10 - $700 - $1000 Westinghouse WD-12 - $250- $800 Westinghouse WD-22 - $150 - $500 Westinghouse WC-42T - $500 - $800 Westinghouse WC-60 - $150 - $300 (Dial model)
VMC 33 - $500 - $800 VMC 81 - Pepsi Model - $2700 - $3500 VMC 88 - Coke Model - $2500-$3000 VMC 88 - Pepsi Model - $800 - $1200 Selectivend S-48 (DP model) - $200 - $400 No DP sign - $100 - $150 Selectivend S-48 (Glass door) - $300 - $500 No DP sign - $150 - $300
Glasco GBV-50 - $300 - $600
Ideal 55B - $300 - $600 Ideal 85B - $200 - $500
Victor C-18 (2 Door) - $800 - $1200 Victor C-31 (3 Door) - $400 - $800 Victor C-45 (4 door) - $300 - $600
This was more my cheat sheet I created for myself. Just thought I'd share, good conversation starter. Open to suggestions, criticism. Curious what you guys think on other popular models, Cav 27, Cavalier C1-55, Vendo 80, etc.

Thanks for the list! The only one I'd argue about is the V44, I picked up a nice working original for $1250 a few years back, and I think they can still be found, although rarely, for that price.

I have passed on 2 V-39 due to no drums in the $400 range, unless it's complete or otherwise exceptional I would have a hard time going to $600. I'm a newbie, so maybe I'm passing on some deals so don't use me as an authority, just an undereducated observation.

Personally though, never seen many under $500 that weren't just scrap iron in addition to missing the drum or other major components. I will say prices seem to be a bit better in the NE than in my region. Thanks for the list! Vendo 44 has got to be the public's choice for best machine. I just never see these in the $2000 range let alone lower.

I think they are pretty reasonable. Locality will cause price difference, the East and west coasts seem to want more for machines then the south and Midwest.

I struggled with that. I picked my V23 up for $350. It was in good shape aside from having damage to the bottle cylinders. Felt I got very lucky. Again, just don't personally see it in that price range though. But I probably could lower that by $100?

You're halfway there; now if you could get some data collected on all the other models, put into print with pictures of course, and then sell it as a Soda Machine Price Guide you would have a bunch of money to buy more SODA MACHINES ! ! !
Excellent work and Thank you for sharing the info ! ! !

I'd say that the Cavalier USS-64 would be close to the CSS-64, but maybe add $50 due to the USS being able to vend cans/bottles.
Cavalier USS-64 - $250 - $450

Noted..I'm not as knowledgeable on that machine, but I know it's versatility makes it one of the more desirable of the square tops.

Tweaked the low end price down $100 on both. Think you're right. I've actually see quite a few 23 standards in decent shape but missing a coin mech for around $400.

Versatile yes, however the USS-64's bottle door is butt-ugly, the CSS-64 is the more Iconic "Coke" machine in my opinion. Side by side by side, the CSS wins in the good-looks department. So there's my 2-cents

Agree the USS-64 is a great machine, but the proporations are all wrong. Very unbalanced. Been staring at mine for years trying to sort what to do. No great idea's yet. Best vend any darn thing out there machine. Built like tanks compared to a Vendo. Creighton

GREETINGS ALL! I have an Cavalier C55d that I am trying to price.Any ideas? It has everything, except the plug and the connection to the compressor. My next question is where can I get a wiring diag on the compressor? I have the electrical diagram on the back of the front door. But it does not show compressor/capacitor wiring. I have taken pics of this diagram. Is there somewhere I can post this diagram picture?

You can post the pic in one of your posts. You may have to adjust the size of the picture. I would say a nice Cav 55D in good working condition can go for around $600. It's a single vend machine, so that it's main downside. Since you don't know if it working though, I don't see you getting more then $300-$400. If you can get a new cord and it works, $600. You can get a new cord here: http://www.fun-tronicsllc.com/index.php?crn=303&start=1Went ahead and updated my list as well with the single and double vend models.

I saw a single select C-55 go for $850 in 'untested' condition at the Carlysle show in PA in 2011, the guy came in bought it as I was looking at it. I wasn't a buyer at that price, but it was all about the 'there and then' for the guy

When you say working, do the mechanics work as well? By this I mean the knob selector.

83 is about .10 per pound, unless some dumpped serious money into it. My estimate for a 110 would be $500-1500. The large coin door in good condition would be the higher. Heck, the coin door and mech would be pushing $800-900 on eBay these days.

Nice job putting this list together. Thanks. How about sharing some of your sources. I'm interested especially in the Cavalier 27. If anyone sees one for sale, i'd appreciate a heads up. My lovely wife just bought a Cavalier 33. I'm the dope that had to drive to Chicago to pick it up. And I live in New Jersey. Great trip though. Attended the Chicagoland coinop show. Great pickins in the parking lot. George from jersey

Thanks. Good job on those, and a nice score since they are in working condition! Went ahead and updated the Vendo 83 on the list after the fun little discussion on the topic. I think we've all come to an agreement on what those should go for.

Guys, I updated the list with a Coke VMC 88. I'd like your thoughts. Remember this list is a median, I know some of you or us have to pay more or less in certain parts of the country.
Please give me thoughts on the Pepsi 88 also, I figured I'd put that between $1200 - $1500.

I think your list is outstanding - the only prices I would change a little are the wd-5 - up to $700-$1000 and I would lower the VMC 33 to $500-$800... It might be because there are a lot of VMC 33's around me.

I think your list is outstanding - the only prices I would change a little are the wd-5 - up to $700-$1000 and I would lower the VMC 33 to $500-$800... It might be because there are a lot of VMC 33's around me.
You make a good point on the 33. I got one late last year for a song. They've been cropping up alot for really cheap. The WD-5 on the other hand, I can still find for $500. Are you other guys seeing the WD-5's go up in price? I updated the VMC 33, because that was a bit high.

Your list is great Kaleid20, I still refer to it from time to time, I agree that prices differ a bit depending on geographical area but for the most part I would say it's pretty accurate, except for the Vendo 44 of course but we get into that again lol
Anyhow I noticed that a few of the commonly collected models never made it on to the list, I think that your list has become a bit of a reference point ( go to list ) for allot of members myself included, so thought it maybe beneficial to all to keep working on and adding to it, so hopefully with the help of some of the more knowledgeable and senior members we can put some values on a few machines that I notice were missing and maybe some other memebers can add models that I didn't think of...
Jacobs 26 Now I may be off but I would estimate it at around $850 to $1050 Jacobs 56 Again might be a bit off but I would say around $2250 to $2500 VMC 27 counter top model... I see these all across the board when it comes to prices but I would say a complete unit with pipe stand around $900 to $ 1200 deppending on dents, gotta love the aluminum shells !
Would love some input on my suggested prices and maybe with enough consensus those models can be added to the list with the agreed upon prices !

I think the Jacobs 56 is a bit low.... A nice original Jacobs 56 (working and not in need of a resto) I think can bring in 3k with no problems. A Jacobs 56 in dire needs of a resto or missing key parts (parts not reproduced) might be in the 2500 mark.
The 56 is a tough machine to find, in any condition... once you do find one, condition is the key, and there are people out there (not just me lol) who are willing to pay full retail for one.
Jacobs 26 I noticed people are asking more these days, but I don't see them selling fast. I would say anything less than 1k for a working 26 is a great buy. Depending on area / availability plays a factor as usual. I know 26's (when the do come up in my area) go for more than 1k easy.

It be real nice to see some more conversations on these prices. 1. Have the prices remained stagnant over the last five years? 2. Is there a market for Soda Machines? 3. Are there still a good aftermarket / reproduction parts available?
