Greetings.  I just purchased my first soda machine.  Its a vendo H63B.  It works fine but I do have some questions and would appreciate any guidance.

1 - What does the h AND b in the model refer to?

2 - The serial number is 202033111.  How can I tell the date of manufacture from this?

3 - How can you tell if it serves bottles or cans? (My rack has pull tabs)

4 - I read this model was available with a lighted sign.  Mine has a metal sign.  Is it possible to convert?

I have already taken it apart (I took pictures along the way) and plan to strip and refinish.

Thanks in advance.

Since no one else answered, I'll try my best:
1. I have no idea.
2. Here is a link that will help you with the serial number: http://www.colamachines.com/vendo-serialnumbers.htm
3. Pull tabs means cans (since it's hard to grab a can). The machines pictured here are bottle machines: http://www.soda-machines.com/machines/vendo/v63.html
4. I'm not sure, but I would think that it would be as easy as removing the meatal sign, put a new plastic sign from Fun-Tronics and put a generic undercounter light behind it to light it up.  The only hard part would be finding a frame for the sign.
I hope this helps a little.

Thanks Dr. Galaga. for the response.  I now understand what you mean about the tabs on the vending mechanism.  I also notice the bottle vendors are circular.  Mines not.

Thanks again.

If my memory serves me, I think serial numbers from the 60's and up... may have changed and no longer incorporate a manufacture date... I'll check some things and get back on this...

My six cents,
