So a friend of mine has a rental property that was next door to a vending business and he knows their landlord very well. Long and short vending company gets raided by the police as they were apparently vending more than candy from their business. Landlord is pissed and just wants property out so he can rerent as soon as possible so he gives my buddy open run of the place. On top of two EM pins he was also able to grab these beauties...all original. Not sure if he wants to sell, but any ideas on fair market value is appreciated

Those are National machines... short about 5 feet tall... about a foot to the wall deep and about 3.5-4 feet wide if I remember... I had 3.... weigh a ton!!! I would bet more than a Vendo 56.... not really big money... I paid 100-200 each I think for mine a few years back traded them off.... kinda wish I would have kept one as those were still around when I was a kid... I like the Candy one with the back etched Candy in the mirror... last of the 50s era for sure.

Of the two, the Candy machine has more potential as it can vend a lot of different items including gum and mints. It has been mentioned on here by another member that the National Candy machine could be the next Stoner. I am not sure I would go that far but they are not bad looking machines--just very big compared to a Stoner. The cigarette machine is basically a boat anchor unless you know a private club that still allows smoking that is looking for a machine. I have seen both of those machines sell regularly for $200 or less. You might be able to get more for the Candy if everything works but the size is the issue with both machines. Still not a bad haul for free! Tim

Check out this one on CL, I think the seller is a little high literal! He wants $1250 for a National Candy Machine. I almost brought one of these B4 I was educated by my fellow members of SMC! For that I'm grateful! http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/clt/2984157517.htmlVintage candy machine national (Detroit) Date: 2012-05-07, 11:07AM EDT Reply to: zdvx8-2984157517@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] Up for sale is a very nice vintage national candy machine. it has very minor rust on it. the mirroe is in good shape except for where the two way tape has pulled off the silvering.(common) all the plastic flippers are intact. it has all the original paper sticker inside from what i can tell and on the outside it still has the original union made tag.asking $1250. or best offer!

I still have a National Candy machine - weighs a ton, but it seems to be indestructable and it gets a lot of use... Not a Stoner, but I remember them when I was a kid and I like them...I gave $50 for it in working condition...

And honestly, I don't want to see myself in a mirror about to buy a candy bar. I may change my mind, and start exercising or go for a granola bar

What were the pins? I'd be more interested in them than the vending machines.

He hasn't pulled the pins from his storage space yet, so not sure what games they are. Anyway you cut it two machines and two pins for free.........albeit that they're ball busters.........not a bad deal at all

Hi: I know this is a 10 day post, but the only reason for a 510 to weigh a lot is because somebody put weight, like bricks, in the bottom. Probably weight less than a Stoner. If I were looking for old candy machine that would vend for decent price, the 510 would be my choice. I like them, we a 4-5 still in service until early/mid 90's. They had been converted from sliding mechs to electronic mechs. I have 2 conversion mechs, but no 510 Gary
