Hi all, just wondering if anyone can confirm that a Vendo 80 Shell is exactly the same as a Vendo 81 shell, I know the V 39 is almost identical but the 81 is deeper by two or three inches. I recently bought a Vendo 81D with a rusted out bottom, it was so badly rusted that it literally split in half when i got it home lol but the machine was complete, even had the original key and was rediculously cheap so just couldn't pass it up, I figure finding a shell shouldn't be to dificult, aperantly I was sadly mistaking lol anyways if anyone can confirm for certain,  that would be great, or better yet if anyone has a spare shell kicking around for a fair price that'd be ever better lol thanks in advance guys !

One very small difference would be the location of the drain tube.  V81 is near the left side where v39 is more near the right under the condensor. Just have to drill a new hole.

I'm ten Minutes north of Buffalo NY, but I don't mind driving a ways depending On how much you want for it, I did find a complete V80 near my area for a decent price but I would rather just a shell... Where abouts are you located ? And what would need for a shell ? You can PM me if you'd like... Thanks for the reply either way... Cheers !

Hi Jeff,

I saw the Vendo 80 in Lancaster as well.  Good luck if you decide to get it.

Just curious, Is the V-39 the same as the 81 except for the bump out in the back? There is a V39 parts machine near me cheap that would make a good donor if it is just the bump out. That can  be swapped over from my machine easier then fixing the bottom.

If not just the bump out, what are the differences in the shell? I may be able to cut the bottom 15 inches off the other one to fix mine if that is the same.

No, 39 shell is completely different, inner liner is much shorter than the 81.
But the base seems to be the same if you are thinking about breaking the spot welds and using it on your 81.

Thanks, I was really hoping to break the weld on the back of it an weld the bump out and use the shell of the V-39. But now that you point it out, the bottom where the compressor sits does look taller, so even with the liner and other stuff out of the 81, I can see that it might not work. Guess its a V80 or V81 if I want to use the whole thing without tons of welding.
