I have a nice all red WE-6 that seems to run fine.  I have not filled it with water yet, but I'm planning a BBQ in a few weeks and want to use it.  Any advice?  The tub looks either new or in very good shape, no rust at all.

I am just very nervous about filling a machine this old with water, plugging it in and then having people reach in for their drinks.  Any danger here?  Anything to make it safer?

Thanks.

Fill it with water and throw a few beers in it.
Call the neighbor over for a brew and if he pulls one out OK, you're set  biggrin

Only thing to really check would be the agitator motor, shaft and wires.

Make sure a video camera is running for youtube :-)

Glass bottles zero worry. Never heard of a water bath machine shocking customers. I'd put a couple of inches of water in and check for leaks. If all good fill to to the line and check again. Water leaking from the tub could cause more BBQ excitement than wanted.
