Here is a pic behind my front coke panel on my uss-8-64.  If I can find the part, can I convert this one to have a light to light up the coke sign from behind?  Obviously I will have to trade the solid coke panel for a tansparent one.

Here's the parts that you need for the light behind the sign: http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270972133423#ht_500wt_922

You'll have to do some relocating of the starter and ballast that is in your machine now, the machines with light up signs have the starter and ballast located inside the coin door area.  I can snap a pic of mine if you're interested to see it.

As for the sign and frame, check out ebay or maybe someone on here has one for sale.  The CSS-64 and USS-64 light assemblies are interchangeable.

So you're saying there's a chance.............. biggrin

Thanks, that would be great if you could snap a pic of yours.  I already had that part from ebay on my watch list, but didn't want to get it, if there was some wierd difference and it was not possible to make mine lite up.

The ballast for the door light is behind that metal panel on the top right of the coin door, and you can see the starter mount (minus the starter) just above it.

Is the light fluorescent and does the light also light up the area where you pull cans or bottles?  I have a USS64 being restored.  Just curious.

Yes, its a fluorescent light, and there are two of them, one that sits vertical on the inside of the bottle door, and the one you can see in the pic on the sign
